Born in Moscow, Oxana Yablonskaya has captivated audiences around the world for over 30 years, standing out for her virtuosity and profound emotional sensitivity. After studying with renowned masters, she made her international debut in Paris and won awards in highly prestigious competitions. Despite the restrictions of the Soviet regime, she distinguished herself as a soloist with the Moscow Philharmonic and recorded for the Melodiya label.
After applying for a visa to the United States, her career was blocked, but thanks to the pressure from figures like Leonard Bernstein, she was able to emigrate in 1977. Her debut in New York was a great success, and since then, she has performed worldwide, with notable appearances at Carnegie Hall and other prestigious venues. With performances in over 40 countries, Yablonskaya has worked with some of the finest orchestras and conductors, and has played in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Teatro Colón, and Suntory Hall.
She has also taught at prestigious institutions such as the Juilliard School, mentoring numerous pianists who are now recognized soloists. Her legacy includes critically acclaimed recordings, and she continues her teaching and artistic activities, performing and giving masterclasses across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
