José Enrique Bouché

Violonchelo

He studied music in Castellón with D. Ramia and J. A. Ros and in Madrid with R. Ramos (a disciple of Tortelier and Flachot). He obtained the Honorary Award at the End of Higher Degree at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid and the Higher Degree in Chamber Music at the Conservatory of Salamanca. Later he expanded his training with M. Cervera (a disciple of Cassadó and Tortelier) at the International Center for Musical Teaching in Barcelona. He is pursuing doctorate studies at the Faculty of Pedagogy (Department of Theory of Education and Social Pedagogy) of the National University of Distance Education, obtaining Research Sufficiency.

He has been awarded a scholarship by the Foundation of the Foreign Bank of Spain, the Ministry of Culture, Education and Science of the Generalitat Valenciana and the Erasmus Program.

In the field of chamber music and as a solo artist, he has performed concerts in Spain, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, Norway, Greece, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, El Salvador, Japan, Turkey, China and the United States.

He has made solo cello and chamber music recordings for Tecnosaga, Edelweis, S.G.A.E., Saimel, R.T.V.E. (finalist album in the 6th Edition of the Music Awards, May 2002), Warner Music (4 nominations for the 16th Latin Grammy Awards, 2015) and Cooperativa de Cine. He regularly plays with pianists Juan Carlos Cornelles and Brenno Ambrosini, as well as collaborating with leading musicians and groups on the international scene: Michael Thomas, Ilya Grubert, Vasko Vassilev, Alexandru Gavrilovici, Nobuko Imai, Imre Rohmann, Jean-Philippe Vasseur, Massimo Paris, Virtuosi del Covent Garden, Ensemble Laureate, Shlomo Mintz, Quarteto “Leonor” and Shanghai Quartet, among others.

He has performed as a soloist and principal cello with different orchestras and chamber groups: Engelberg Orchestra, “Reina Sofía” Chamber Orchestra, Castellón Symphony Orchestra, Mediterranean Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta de les Arts, Camerata de Madrid, Castelló XXI, Nomos Group, Córdoba Orchestra, etc. performing under the direction of V. Cacciatori, C. Halffter, M. Thomas, J. Vicent, E. García Asensio, H. Adams, S. Brotons, C. Amat, P. Miyar, etc. His concert performances include Dvorak, Haydn, Saint-Saëns, Boccherini, Beethoven's Triple Concerto, etc.

He has been a member of the “Ars Hispanica Quartet” and the “Dubhe Quartet”, the “Arkhé Piano Trio” (Ambrosini-Huerta-Bouché) and the “Mediterranean String Trio” (Correa-Hontañón-Bouché). Solo cello of the “Mediterranean Symphony Orchestra”, “Camerata de Madrid” and “ABCámara” and solo assistant of the “Reina Sofía” Chamber Orchestra of Madrid from 1986 to 1999, a group in which he has performed with conductors and soloists such as N. Chumachenco, R. Frübeck de Burgos, Ph. Entremont, Sir Neville Marriner, N. Yepes, N. Zabaleta, T. Berganza, M. J. Montiel, P. Romero, M. Bayo, I. Haebler, A. Polo, H. Schellenberger, J. Achúcaro, Y. Basmeth, etc.

His interest in contemporary Spanish music has led him to premiere and broadcast works by outstanding current composers (P. Artola, R. Beltrán Moner, F. Colás, J. Sánchez, E. Lorenzo, A. Gómez, R. Paús, Z. de la Cruz, F. Ferrer, C. Cruz de Castro, S. Brotons, M. A. Coria, A. González Acilu, R. Barce, T. Marco, C. Prieto, J. Villa-Rojo, G. Gombau, P. Miyar, M.A.Roig-Francolí, P. Gimeno, M.A. Berbis, etc.)

He is regularly invited to give master classes in Spain, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Romania, Turkey, Serbia, Greece, El Salvador, Brazil, China, etc. and to prepare young orchestras: Jove Orquestra de la Generalitat Valenciana, Jove Orquestra Simfònica de Castelló, JOBASCYL de Castilla y León, Youth Orchestra “Ciudad de Salamanca”, Youth Orchestra “Don Bosco” from El Salvador and The World Orchestra.

Pedagogy occupies a very important part of their professional activity. Bouché has taught at the Professional Conservatory of Zaragoza, Professional Conservatory of Salamanca, Professional Conservatory of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), Conservatory of the Balearic Islands, Conservatory of the “Adolfo Salazar” Professional Conservatory in Madrid and Valencian International University-VIU. He is currently a cello teacher at the “Salvador Seguí” Conservatory in Castellón. He has designed and has been Director of the “University Master's Degree in Musical Interpretation and Research” at the International University Valenciana-VIU, awarded an “Honorable Mention” in the 5th edition of the International Teaching With Sakai Innovation Award (TWSIA) held in Atlanta (Georgia-USA) in 2012, in recognition of pedagogical innovation and excellence in educational projects through the Sakai, Elluminate and Blackboard Collaborate technological platforms.

As Education Manager, Bouché has developed international projects and agreements with Higher Art Education Institutions and Universities across Europe. In 2013, he taught cello and string pedagogy in El Salvador as part of the “Project for the Prevention of Violence through Musical and Cultural Activities” funded by the World Bank, in which the Edytra Foundation, the Ministry of Education of El Salvador and the Don Bosco University of San Salvador participate.

Bouché is currently Artistic Co-Director of the international cellos meeting “Cellosmagics” (https://www.cellosmagics.org) and Deputy Coordinator of the “Mediterranean Network for Music” (https://mednet4music.weebly.com).
