Awarded in the most important national competitions in the country, Jordán Tejedor is one of the most outstanding violinists and pedagogues of his generation on the Spanish music scene.
He is usually a juror in national and international violin and chamber music competitions, and performs master classes and concerts at a multitude of conservatories and festivals: Norwegian Music Competition for Youth of the EMCY, Oslo; Permanent Competition of Musical Youth of Spain; International Chamber Music Competition “Ciutat de Vinaròs”, BBVA Music Award for Individual Talent; China-Spain International Violin Competition; “The First Palau” Competition of the Palau de la Música Catalana; Forum Musikae; International Festival of Granada; Festival Santander International; Juan March Foundation; Puigcerdà Music Festival; “Eduardo Ocón” Course in Malaga; Musical Arts Madrid; International Cerdanya Music Course; Ivan Galamian Academy; Leonel Morales & Friends in Granada; Faculty of Music of the Alfonso X el Sabio University in Madrid (UAX) etc.
He studied violin at the Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceu in Barcelona with the teacher Gonçal Comellas. At the age of eighteen, he continued his training, perfecting himself with important teachers on the international scene: with Mauricio Fuks (Bloomington, USA), with Adam Korniszewski (Brussels), with Joshua Epstein (Saarbrucken) and with Boris Kuschnir (Vienna). Throughout his career, he also received advice from prominent musicians such as Agustín León Ara, Florin Szigeti, Rugiero Ricci and Igor Oistrakh. In chamber music, he trained with the Enesco Quartet of Paris and Joshua Epstein of the Bartholdy Quartet.
After winning first prize in the “Permanent Competition 2002” of Juventudes Musicales de España in the solo string instrument category and the silver medal in “El Primer Palau 2003” at the Palau de la Música Catalana, an intense career began as a soloist and chamber musician. His performances include the complete violin concertos by J. S. Bach, W. A. Mozart and J. Brahms together with orchestras such as the ORTVE, the “Gonçal Comellas” Chamber Orchestra, JONC and the Saarbrucken Musikhochschule Saarland Symphony Orchestra. He also makes recordings for “The Concerts of the 2” on TVE, Radio Clásica de RNE and Catalunya Radio.
His passion for teaching has led him to become a violin teacher and Head of the String Department at the Conservatory of Music of Aragón (CSMA) and the Higher School of High Performance Music of Valencia (ESMAR). He is currently on leave of absence and is a violin teacher at Musical Arts Madrid, at the Faculty of Music at the Alfonso X el Sabio University in Madrid (UAX) and at the Conservatory of Music of the Liceu in Barcelona.
